Concrete Cancer
Buildings with some age and dependant on how well they were detailed when they were built may start to show signs of 'concrete cancer', small rust spots appearing on the painted surfaces, cracks, spalls, and blistering of the paint. The reasons this occurs is usually a combination of circumstances and the difficulty around its repair is often what you can see is not the full extent of it. The repair methodology is often invasive, and its treatment can be costly not only in terms of the financial burden, also in terms of the disruption while works are engaged.
